During the summer semester of 2023/2024, the University of Economics in Bratislava will welcome 104 exchange students from 21 countries in Europe, Asia, and America. The largest group consists of students from our partner institutions in France, Spain, Germany, and Portugal, who were sent through the Erasmus+ program. Students from the United States, India, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan are part of bilateral cooperation and the National Scholarship Program. We are also happy to welcome students from Georgia and Bosnia and Herzegovina coming through the Erasmus+ KA171 International Credit Mobility program.

The Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Ferdinand Daňo, welcomed on his own request the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of India to Slovakia, H.E. Apoorva SRIVASTAVA, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024, who was accompanied by Mr. Ivan Kozinka from the Embassy of India.

The University of Economics in Bratislava hosted the 13th edition of the Winter School in cooperation with the prestigious French university ESC Rennes School of Business. January 8, 2024 saw the opening of the event’s 13th edition attended by 16 foreign students from countries such as Colombia, Philippines, Mexico, India, Pakistan, China or Taiwan. Apart for students from ESC Rennes School of Business, for the second time, also students of the University of Economics in Bratislava attend teaching activities and had thus an opportunity to experience internationalization on their home ground in addition to being able to acquire expert knowledge.

In the winter semester of an academic year 2023/2024, we organized jubilee 10th edition of an international educational project Central Europe Connect - Joint Certificate Program (CEC), that enables short-term international student exchange at three economic universities in Central Europe. The CEC project is a joint project of the University of Economics in Vienna (WU), the University of Economics in Warsaw (SGH) and the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA). Within this unique certified program, 20 students from each university attend lectures and discussions on the topics of economic development of the countries of the Central European region.

In the spirit of fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange, the EUBA hosted the Danube Conference 2023 on November 9-10, building on its inception in 2017 at the Ulm University. Rooted in the ethos of sharing experiences and perspectives on emerging challenges, the conference has become a pivotal event in the academic calendar. The Quality Assurance Centre of the EUBA took the reins as the host, steering the international discourse toward ethical considerations in teaching and research and the transformative impact of AI on higher education.

On October 10, 2023, the International Office of the EU in Bratislava organized the International Study Abroad Fair to bring students closer to all the possibilities of studying abroad. The fair brought together exchange students of the winter semester 2023/2024 and full-time students who presented their universities through engaging presentations. In addition, they shared their culture, traditions, and cuisine, creating a great opportunity for local students to network.

On September 26-29, 2023, the 33rd international education fair of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) took place in Rotterdam. The conference with the central theme "Connecting currents" was attended by more than 6,700 participants from 1,600 institutions from more than 100 countries of the world. In addition to personal meetings and visits of individual exhibitors' stands, the participants of the fair also had the opportunity to participate on interactive workshops, professional seminars and networking events.

The results of the collaboration of 15 business and academic partners from all over Europe, created under the OpenMusE Horizon Europe project, after only half a year of cooperation, have already moved us significantly forward, and closer to fulfilling the goals of the project, as well as the Memorandum of Cooperation between the University of Economics in Bratislava (Faculty of Business Management), the Digital Music Observatory, and public institutions supporting the development of the music industry.
