On September 26-29, 2023, the 33rd international education fair of the European Association for International Education (EAIE) took place in Rotterdam. The conference with the central theme "Connecting currents" was attended by more than 6,700 participants from 1,600 institutions from more than 100 countries of the world. In addition to personal meetings and visits of individual exhibitors' stands, the participants of the fair also had the opportunity to participate on interactive workshops, professional seminars and networking events.
The delegation of the Slovak Republic, led by Michal Fedák, State Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic, was also present at the event. On behalf of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Miroslava Darnadiová, Head of the Center for International Relations and Diana Mydliarová, Coordinator of the Center for study programs in foreign languages, participated at the fair.
With its scope and quality, the EAIE fair enables personal meetings with current and potential partners from important institutions from all over the world to be held in one place and to further develop and deepen international cooperation. „EAIE is the first league of education fairs, we need to be visible at such events and build our brand. During the four days, we had more than 30 official negotiations, as well as a large number of unofficial meetings. I believe that all these meetings will strengthen international cooperation not only in the field of education", Vice-Rector Mattoš evaluated the participation on the fair. At the same time, he appreciated the support from the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic by securing the Study in Slovakia presentation stand. Altogether 15 Slovak universities and colleges were represented at the fair.
