General information

Students of the University of Economics in Bratislava have the opportunity to participate in a study abroad stay also on the basis of mobility programs such as CEEPUS, the National Scholarship Program, the International Visegrad Fund and also on the basis of bilateral agreements concluded between the University of Economics in Bratislava and foreign partner institutions. In the case of bilateral cooperation, students proceed according to Internal Directive No. 2/2012 Sending students of the University of Economics in Bratislava for study stays abroad on the basis of cooperation agreements with foreign universities and other institutions providing higher education.

General information

CEEPUS mobility program

The CEEPUS program is a multi-state exchange program, specially adapted to the needs of countries of Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe. Its goal is to provide new impulses for the international exchange of students and teachers and thus reduce asymmetric development in this region. Program enables development of cooperation between Slovak and foreign universities by creating academic networks, within which scientific and research cooperation takes place and the mobility of students, doctoral students and university teachers is realized. It is financed from the state budget on the basis of agreements of the ministries of education of the countries participating in the program.

Following countries are currently activitely participating in the program: Albania, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Czech republic, Croatia, Hungary, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Moldova, Montenegro, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia.

SAIA, n. o. is the National agency of the CEEPUS program in Slovakia. The agency regularly inform about current rules of implementation of the program (networks of cooperating universities, grant contributions, application deadlines...) on its website www.saia.sk.

Selection process

The selection process for those interested in a study and teaching mobility usually takes place in the spring months, always with validity for the following academic year. The International Office publishes in advance an overview of foreign universities where the mobility can take place, as well as the number of students and teachers that the University of Economics in Bratislava can send for the mobility. The primary selection is carried out at the corresponding faculties.

The final selection of the mobility participants is made within the International Office. The minutes of the selection procedure are published on the university's website. All candidates are informed about the result of the selection procedure in writing (by e-mail). Successful candidates are informed by the International Relations coordinator about the preparation process and binding documentation which is necessary for the successful realization of mobility. Other candidates can apply for the so-called freemover mobility (out-of-network networks). Out-of-network mobilities (freemover) are approved only if the national office of the CEEPUS program in the host country has free scholarship months.
