The International Office of the University of Economics in Bratislava organized a photography contest for exchange students from partner universities from September 18 to October 18, 2023.
The competition was designed to foster and support technical and creative skills in photography as a means of artistic expression. This year's photography contest focused on the theme of "EUBA by my eyes", allowing students to demonstrate their unique perspectives of EUBA through their photographs, as it is often said that a picture speaks louder than words.
The International Office of EUBA selected three winners, to whom Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations of EUBA, awarded valuable prizes. Winner of the contest, Sabrina from Uzbekistan shared with us her thoughts about the contest: „To be honest, I am fond of photography, and when I saw that EUBA was holding a photo contest, I was glad that I could show my work to others. Having taken the first place, I want to take even more photos and develop further in this area. Therefore, I think that holding these contests is a good source of inspiration for both participants and other people.”.
Second-place winner, Jakhonbek, shared with us his emotions about the contest: "Thrilled and honored to have won the university photo contest! Grateful for the opportunity to showcase my passion for photography. Thanks for organizing this fantastic event!".
Lastly, student Davou from Greece, who won the third place shared her opinion about the contest: „The photo contest was a nice way for Erasmus students to showcase our creativity and originality and depict the way we see EUBA. When I first started thinking about my photo for the contest, the first thing that came to mind was my Tuesday morning classroom. I have never participated in a similar contest before, and I’m by no means good at photography, but, I tried it! I chose this photo because I wanted to show that a classroom can also be a place of inspiration and can foster productivity, no matter the endless, tiring hours we spend in one. I hope that this photograph can inspire others, and I also encourage future Erasmus students to participate in this event!”.
