On 8 October 2019, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Indonesia to Slovakia, H.E. Adiyatwidi Adiwoso Asmady visited the University of Economics in Bratislava and gave a lecture at Diplomacy in Practice lecture series. The course was led by Mr Gilbert Futó from the Department of International Political Relations of the EUBA’s Faculty of International Relations.

In the week of 14 to 18 October 2019, the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA) is going to welcome 21 representatives from 15 foreign partner universities from Europe, Asia, and Africa at the 9th International Week organized with a support from the Erasmus+ programme.

The Committee of the Section for Scientific and Professional Literature and Computer Programs of the Literary Fund awarded on 26 September 2019 the Student Scientific Conference Premium for the best paper in 2018/2019 to Ing. Dávid Hojdan, a FNE (Faculty of National Economy) graduate and the winner of the Student Scientific Specialist Activity in 2018/2019.

On Thursday 3 October 2019, 24 graduates from the faculties of the University of Economics in Bratislava in the presence of the rector of the university Prof Ferdinand Daňo, the vice-rector for science and doctoral study Ms Paula Puškárová and the deans of the EUBA faculties were awarded the title of philosophiae doctor.

On 1 October 2019 Mr John von Kaufmann, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of Canada in Slovakia visited the University of Economics in Bratislava to give a lecture at the Diplomacy inn Practice Lecture Series. Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations of the EUBA, welcomed the guest at the University. The subject of the meeting was the cooperation between EUBA and universities in Canada.

In the winter term 2019/2020, nearly two hundred students from 25 countries around the world chose the University of Economics in Bratislava as their new alma mater, students from France, Spain and Germany having the largest representation. In addition to European countries EUBA also hosts students from Bhutan, Kazakhstan and Japan.

On 24 September 2019, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Slovak Republic H. E. Mr Jun Shimmi launched the 26th edition of the two-semester lecture series Diplomacy in Practice. The main theme of the winter semester is the economic and multilateral diplomacy of the Asia-Pacific States. In his presentation, Ambassador Shimmi pointed out the constant changes that society has to face in the 21st century, with a particular focus on population growth, the challenges of developed countries and the challenges of the future in the international arena. In the discussion, he answered several questions from students who were interested in the problems of the aging population and the next year's Olympic Games.

On 23 September 2019, the rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Prof Ferdinand Daňo signed an agreement on a double degree programme between the EUBA and the Kyiv National Economic University named after Vadym Hetman (KNEU). The document was signed in the presence of Mr Yuriy Solodkovsky, dean of the Faculty of International Economics and Management. Mr Oleksandr Fedirko, head of the Department of European Economy and Business, Faculty of International Economics and Management was also present at the meeting. In addition to the Rector, the EUBA was represented by Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations and Mr Rudolf Kucharčík, dean of the Faculty of International Relations.

The rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, Prof Ferdinand Daňo, received a delegation from Tishreen University in Latakia, Syria on 17 September 2019. The members of the Syrian university delegation were Mr Sayouh Mohamad Louay, secretary of the Department of Economics and Planning, Faculty of Economics, Mr Basem Sodan, vice-rector for teaching activities, Mr Jaber Diba, dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, Ms Kinda Salhab of the Institute of Law and Mr Ali Assad, head of the Syrian Student Association in Slovakia. Tishreen University in Syria comprises 17 faculties, of which the Faculty of Economics with its 35,000 students is one largest.
