On 31 March 2019, the University of Economics launched for the first time project Central Europe Connect. The project is organized in cooperation with renowned partner universities—WU (Vienna University of Economics) and SGH (Warsaw School of Economics). Students from these universities along with the EUBA students will get—during three weeks of concentrated study and group projects—an overview of functioning of economies in Central European countries.

EUBA’s rector, Prof Ferdinand Daňo signed on 4 April 2019 in Mexico City a Cooperation Agreement with Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). ITAM is the best economic university in Mexico with excellent position in world university rankings and a triple international accreditation (AACSB, EQUIS, AMBA). The main topic of a negotiation between the ITAM management and EUBA delegation—composed of Mr Boris Mattoš, vice-rector for international relations, Ms Jana Péliová, vice-rector for management of academic projects, Mr Peter Drábik, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Ms Danka Paštéková, Department of International Cooperation—were possibilities for mutual cooperation. Both parties stressed the fact that there is a significant potential for cooperation, since the structure of both institutions is very similar and the educational and research goals are identical.

In the week of 08 to 10 April, 2019, the University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA) is going to host 21 representatives from 20 foreign partner universities from Europe, Asia, Africa and North America as a part of the Joint International Week organized by the EUBA in Bratislava with the support of Erasmus + programme in cooperation with Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien (WU), where the program continues on April 11 and 12, 2019.

The University of Economics in Bratislava hosted today 5th and Annual meeting of Center for Financial Innovation which was created by the Ministry of Finance of the Slovak Republic and gathers all stakeholders in Fintech sector in Slovakia. Event was hosted by Peter Paluš, Head of Financial Unit of the Permanent representation of the Slovak republic to the EU.

Best academics from three prominent European universities (University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, University of Liège, Belgium and Sciences Po in Paris, France) discussed radically new approach to climate diplomacy at an EDGE workshop 17 and 18 February 2019. Their aim was to speed up a global shift towards clean energy.

German ambassador to Slovakia, H.E. Mr Joachim Bleicker gave a lecture at 25th issue of Diplomacy in Practice lecture series on 12 March 2019. Ambassador Bleicker spoke about the priorities of German foreign policy and a number of global issues. The German ambassador answered to questions of students interested in current political situation in the country and his views on world economic and political events.

After two European rounds of the Rotman Trading Competition (RETC 2016, 2018) in Rome and two global rounds in Toronto (RITC 2017, 2018) where we successfully represented master’s degree programme Banking (Faculty of National Economy) led by assoc. prof. Jana Kotlebová, PhD. we are again open to the world competition.

Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland H.E. Mr Andrew Garth spoke at the University of Economics in Bratislava on Tuesday, 5 March 2019 at Diplomacy in Practice lecture series. Ambassador Garth presented to Slovak and international students various different aspects of the work of a diplomat sharing with them his knowledge of the world of diplomacy. Ambassador Garth stressed the importance of communication in diplomatic practice not only in negotiations but also in contact with different cultures.
