Krakow University of Economics (Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny w Krakowie - UEK) is among the leading economic universities in Poland. Its history dates back to 1925 and it is currently one of the major academic institutions with a rich tradition of teaching and research in the field of economics and social sciences. UEK develops intensive international ties and has long been a key partner of the University of Economics in Bratislava.
On March 28, 2025, a bilateral meeting with the UEK delegation took place at the University of Economics in Bratislava. The delegation from Krakow was led by Rector Bernard Ziębicki, accompanied by Rector Emeritus Andrzej Chochół and Professor Stanisław Lis.
The University of Economics in Bratislava was represented at the meeting by Ferdinand Daňo, Rector of the EUBA, Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations, Jana Péliová, Vice-Rector for Accreditation and Quality, and the deans of faculties that have long-term cooperation with partners from UEK, Erika Pastoráková, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Finance, and Peter Drábik, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce.
The content of the meeting was the evaluation of the ongoing cooperation between the two universities, which has been going on since 1972. The partnership is implemented mainly through student and staff exchange mobilities, as well as joint activities within the Erasmus+ and CEEPUS programs. UEK is also a partner in the Overcoming Digital Divide in Europe and Southeast Asia (ODDEA) project, which is currently underway at the Faculty of Economics and Finance within the Horizon Europe program.
UEK Rector Bernard Ziębicki also informed during the meeting about the upcoming celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the University of Economics in Krakow, which will be attended by EUBA representatives.
