From 21st to 25th October 2024, the University of Economics in Bratislava organized its 17th edition of the International Week. The main aim of this year's edition of the international week was to support the internationalization in the area of the teachers mobilities. This year EUBA welcomed 11 foreign participants representing universities from Germany, Romania, Lithuania. Latvia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Azerbaijan, Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Portugal, and Turkey.
This type of international event has been organized by the EUBA since 2015 and the aim of the seventeenth edition was to offer students of English accredited full-time study programs the opportunity to be the auditorium of hosting teachers representing the University of Economics in Bucharest, Fontys International Business Studies, Wroclaw University of Economics and Business, Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, University of Évora, TOBB University of Economics & Technology, University of Sarajevo, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Riga Stradins University and CUNEF University.
The event was opened by Ferdinand Daňo, Rector of the University of Economics in Bratislava, who empasized, that the University of Economics in Bratislava by organizing International Weeks keeps fulfilling its mission of modern research university with international direction. Vice-Rector for International Relations, Boris Mattoš, presented the university to foreign guests, especially from the point of view of international cooperation.
During the 17th International Week, lectures were given at the Faculty of Business Management - in the courses such as Microeconomics and Management. At the Faculty of Commerce foreign teachers offered presentations in the fields of Marketing, Tourism Management or Management of International Business, at the Faculty of National Economy in the field of Finance, Banking and Insurance, at the Faculty of International Relations in the programme of International Economic Relations, International Political Relations and at the Faculty of Economic Informatics in the Accounting and Auditing.
On Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024 as a part of the official program, the International Office in cooperation with Department for Research and Doctoral Studies organized a workshop for doctoral students named My Academic Journey which provided for the 3rd level students an opportunity to gain insights from international teachers and researchers on their experiences of success in academic environments.
A participant from TOBB University of Economics & Technology expressed an impression to see that the international exchange students, the Slovak students and the PhD students with whom he interacted were very much interested in the subject and were asking good questions.
The other teacher form the University of Évora added that the program of whole event was very exciting, full of new discoveries and interesting knowledge and meetings with colleagues from different countries with different perspectives and ideas,
In addition to the possibility of internationalization of the represented institutions, the event provides a great opportunity to establish new partnerships and strenghten the existing ones within the Erasmus+ mobility program.
