In the winter semester of the academic year 2023/2024, the University of Economics in Bratislava will host exchange students from 15 different countries within the Erasmus+ programme, Bilateral cooperation and National Scholarship Programme. The largest group of students comes from partner institutions in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, and Germany. Additionally, students from Canada, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan have also taken advantage of the opportunity to study at the University of Economics in Bratislava. For the first time, foreign full-time students from Kenya, Vietnam, and Kazakhstan also participated in this event.
During the Welcome Week event on September 11, 2023, exchange students were treated to a week filled with various activities to kick off the new semester. The event began with a greeting from Boris Mattoš, Vice-Rector for International Relations and Laura Danielová, Coordinator for Incoming Students. In addition to this, the students were entertained by the folk ensemble FS Ekonóm, which provided an insight into the Slovak culture. Július Buday from the Bratislava Tourist Board gave a presentation on life in Bratislava and recommended some attractive sightseeing destinations around Slovakia. The Erasmus Student Network (ESN EU Bratislava) representatives gave the students a campus tour. The International Office, which organized the event, provided students with information on study administration and the obligations of the foreign police in Slovakia.
