On October 11, 2022, the Department of International Mobility prepared the International Study Abroad Fair to support awareness of the possibilities of studying abroad. The event was attended by exchange students of the winter semester 2022/2023, who had the opportunity to represent their home universities to local students in the form of presentations, in which they also introduced their culture, traditions, and food.

The event was opened by Miroslava DARNADIOVÁ, Deputy Head of Department of International Mobility who welcomed all students and encouraged them to share their experiences with studying abroad and to establish contacts and new friendships. Subsequently, Laura DANIELOVÁ, Coordinator for incoming students introduced the Photo Exhibition entitled My home country in Slovakia of students from the previous semester who came as part of the Erasmus+ KA107 programme from countries such as China, Georgia, South Korea, Syria, and Ukraine.

Currently, this semester, 123 international students from 19 countries are studying at EUBA within the frameworks of Erasmus+, National Scholarship Programme, and Bilateral cooperation. Students from all over the world came to Slovakia and in this way acted as valuable ambassadors of their home universities and country.

Benjamin from the University of Victoria, Gustavson School of Business, Canada, stated: During International Study Abroad Fair I had a chance to talk to local students about my country and my culture, but also introduce my university and study opportunities.” Students were promoting academic opportunities and study possibilities in and outside Europe, cultural diversity, and international experience.

Both incoming and outgoing offices and representatives from the Erasmus Student Network EU Bratislava (ESN EU Bratislava) provided information to students about the diverse types of study abroad programs available and encouraged students to consider studying abroad while at EUBA. Michaela VRBENSKÁ, Coordinator for outgoing students said: „I was positively surprised by the high interest in studies outside Europe such as in South Korea or Vietnam. It’s signalizing those students are slowly overcoming the fear of traveling after covid-19 pandemic and they are planning to extend their study possibilities also outside of the European Union”.

International Relations Office was excited to announce participants from Spain and Finland as the winners of the best table contest in this year’s event. Sara from Pablo de Olavide University Sevilla, Spain, expressed her thoughts on the event: You have a chance to try different foods from various countries and meet people from all around the world. It is a nice experience and I invite you all to experience it by yourself.
