On November 15, 2019, the 3rd International Meeting of the Departments of Economics was held at the Faculty of National Economy (FNE) of the University of Economics in Bratislava.
The event was organized by the Department of Economic Theory of FNE and was attended by 40 colleagues from partner departments of economics from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Poland. The event was opened by the head of the Department of Economic Theory prof. Ing. Dr. E. Muchová, PhD. in presence of the FNE’s Vice-Dean for Educational Activities Ing. Jana Kušnírová, PhD. and recalled the main objectives of the regular meetings, which were the exchange of knowledge and experience in economic education, familiarization with trends in the teaching of economics and the search for opportunities for mutual cooperation through the networking.
Keynote speaker of the event, prof. Gerald Groshek from the University of Redlands, USA gave a lecture on "Online and interactive resources in teaching economics". Participants discussed the use of teaching techniques and online platforms and discussed the position of subjects in degree programmes at faculties and universities. The latest publications as well as the publication plans of the departments were presented at the event.
